The stars were out at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles for the 68th annual Grammy Awards – a yearly celebration of music, culture, and of course fashion. The big winners of the evening included Kendrick Lamar, Billie Eilish and Bad Bunny, whilst there were impressive performances from Sabrina Carpenter and Zara Larsson.
Regarded as music’s biggest night, it’s also quite the evening for fashion. Fresh off the back for couture week, the red carpet allows designers to put their best foot forward before SS26 shows kick off later this month. The classic houses – such as Valentino and Schiaparelli – were of course present, but with some of the biggest names opting to wear smaller brands, the carpet was nothing but exciting and diverse.
Here are the top red carpet looks of the night:

Olivia Dean in Chanel
It was a big night for Olivia Dean as she took home the highly coveted Best New Artist Award, and she did so with the utmost class in custom Chanel. The gown featured a black sequinned bodice with feathered detailing at the waist, before falling into an elegant white skirt.

Sabrina Carpenter in Valentino
Mere weeks after the passing of Valentino Garavani, Sabrina Carpenter stunned in a custom gown by the Italian house. This vintage inspired look featured an elegant sheer drape over the shoulders, a bejewelled floral bodice and a layered tulle skirt which extended out into a modest train.

Bad Bunny in Schiaparelli
Ahead of his Super Bowl performance this Sunday, Bad Bunny offered us quite the fashion moment on the red carpet, one that certainly has more flair than what meets the eye. The Album of the Year winner donned a custom Schiaparelli suit – one with a cinched waist and gold eyelet detailing down the spine – marking this as the first haute couture menswear look by the brand.

Leon Thomas in Gap Studio
It was a successful evening for Leon Thomas as the artist picked up two awards, one of which being for the Best R&B Album. He walked the carpet in a sleek oversized black custom suit by Gap Studios, complete with a beret and an elegant brooch.

Chappell Roan in Mugler
Nobody knows how to get the critics talking quite like Chappell Roan. The Pink Pony Club singer – who was up for two awards – turned heads in custom Mugler sheer burgundy gown. The look featured a daring nipple piercing detail, referencing a SS98 couture dress by Thierry himself.

Sombr in Valentino
Alessandro Micheles Valentino was clearly a popular choice, and Sombr’s custom suit explains why. The sequinned blazer and trousers offered a flamboyant take on the classic suit, with a high neck lace bodysuit adding a feminine touch.

Tyla in Dsquared2
Now a two time Grammy winner after taking home the award for Best African Music Performance, Tyla dipped into the archives at Dsquared2 for her red carpet walk. The nude dress – from the brand’s FW13 collection – showcased a dramatic feathered skirt and a low hanging neckline, complete with golden embellishments. She completed the look with over 100 lab-grown diamonds by Pandora.

Lady Gaga in Matières Fécales
It’s always exciting to see a lesser known designer on a major red carpet, and even more so when they’re worn by someone like Lady Gaga. Known for her extravagant fashion choices – who could forget when she appeared in an egg at the 2011 Grammys – she opted for a custom look by Parisian house Matières Fécales. The black feathered mermaid gown, complete with a dramatic neckline and tulle train, proved to be both elegant and theatrical.

Pink Pantheress in Vivienne Westwood
Amongst a sea of custom couture, it’s refreshing to see an archival look thrown into the mix. Pink Pantheress took to the carpet in an edgy floor length strapless gown from Vivienne Westwood SS12 that features a deconstructed Union Jack – perhaps signifying a return to Cool Britannia is on the horizon.

Billie Eilish in Hodakova
The Wildflower singer picked up the award for Song of the Year, and she did it in style wearing custom Hodakova- a young Swedish brand with a focus on sustainability. The ensemble resembled a deconstructed men’s suit, with a micro bag and pointed heels adding a touch of femininity.

FLO in Luar
First time nominees FLO looked picture perfect on the carpet in their coordinated custom looks by New York based brand Luar. Each gown featured a long mesh skirt with embellished upper-halves that caught the eye.

Gesaffelstein
Co-producer of Lady Gaga’s Mayhem turned heads as he took to the carpet in a classic black tuxedo – which he paired with a striking black mask and gloves. The French DJ (who took home the award for Best Remixed Recording), is believed to have collaborated with Ironhead Studio to create the unconventional accessories.

Audrey Nuna in Thom Browne
It wouldn’t be a red carpet write up without mentioning Thom Browne. Audrey Nuna of K-Pop Demon Hunters opted for a conceptual look by the brand from their SS24 collection which offers theatrical sleeves, a cinched waist and a layered-tulle skirt.
